Held on Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Civic Center Library (1188 S. Livermore Ave.), all Jazz in July programs are free of charge, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Livermore Public Library. No reservations are required. Seating and parking are limited, so arrive early!
Jazz and July Lineup:
July 6: The Duo – Tia Carroll and Frankie G – Award-winning vocalist Tia Carroll is one of the West Coast’s most sought-after talents, known for her powerful voice and commanding stage presence. Frankie G complements her with his engaging acoustic style, blending traditional and contemporary blues with heartfelt ballads and lively audience interaction.
July 13: Lee Waterman and Jazz Caliente - Guitarist and composer Lee Waterman’s Jazz Caliente brings sizzling Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms to life. Formed in 1989, the group features his original works and fresh takes on classics by legends like Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, and Tito Puente.
July 20: The Matt Finders Trio with Karen Marguth - Matt Finders (bass), John R Burr (keyboard), and Kelly Fasman (drums) have performed together for nearly a decade, blending American Songbook classics with Latin and blues. Finders, formerly of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Band, teamed up with Burr, who toured with Maria Muldaur and Alison Brown, and Fasman, who played with Kenny Loggins and Peter Cetera. They’re joined by acclaimed vocalist Karen Marguth, a longtime Livermore resident with six CDs, who has performed with the trio for over 10 years.
July 27: Ashley Jemison and Rhonda Sauce - Oakland’s Rhonda Sauce, the Swiss Army Knife of bandleaders, blends classical training, contemporary flair, and Black American Music traditions in bold, unforgettable performances. Her latest project, Back To You, celebrates jazz’s golden eras. Saxophonist Ashley Jemison, a Cal State Los Angeles alumna, fuses smooth jazz with R&B and pop, inspiring audiences with her soulful, uplifting sound. Together, they bring fresh energy to the modern jazz scene.
